STOCK FINISHING

NIC Industries Cerakote is a porcelain based coating specially formulated for firearms.  It offers a tough and abrasion resistant finish with broad menu of color options.   Highly tolerant to solvents and chemicals, it has earned its status as an industry standard by many gunsmiths.

LRI has a dedicated department for Cerakote application.   Our large capacity oven is free of hot/cold spots that can muddle the finish and our paint booth filters incoming ventilation to ensure your parts are free of foreign debris. We only use professional grade Sata spray guns for superior application.

Parts covered under “Complete Barreled Action” service are:

• Receiver*
• Recoil Lug
• Barrel
• Bolt Body and handle*
• Bolt Shroud
• Side Bolt Release (when applicable)
• Muzzle brake/thread protector (when applicable)

Parts/features intentionally left uncoated under “Complete Barreled Action” service:

• Internal Receiver ring threads
• Barrel tennon threads
• Muzzle Threads
• Small pins/screws

Coating Optics:

LRI is one of the few shops comfortable with coating an optic.  Coating an optic successfully is the most labor intensive and detail oriented job in our finishing department.  Our most frequently asked question regarding this service is what efforts we take to ensure the windage, elevation, and parallax adjustment knobs remain legible.   We offer two possible solutions for this:

• Mask a ring around the engraving that will leave that portion of the turret with its original finish
• Coat the entire turret and engrave with out new 100 watt fiber laser complete with a rotary axis

    

• Coat the entire turret replace the engraving with a CNC tool path or our NEW fiber laser fitted with a rotary table.

 

 

 

2nd Color application to Bolt and Barrel Flutes:

Masking with crisp, clean edges is a close 2nd as the most labor intensive, detail oriented job in the LRI Finishing Department.

 

Muzzle brakes and Thread Protectors:

When possible, we coat these as an assembly so that the seam disappears.

 

 

Special orders of colors not in stock:

Our library is extensive, but we do not carry every color offered by NIC.  We are happy to special order something not in stock, however this does have additional fees.  The smallest quantity we order is pint size and the cost of product/shipping is divided equally.  Any remaining product becomes the property of LRI.
