Description
2003-2011:
This service began out of a desperation to do better. Camouflage paint work on a rifle stock had not progressed very far and those in the know were not sharing the cheat codes. Our resources were limited so we went down the path we knew, machine work. JPEG images would be converted to G-code to machine a master stencil so that a pattern could be created with masking tape by hand. It was a process that taxed your patience while darkening vocabulary.

2011-Today:
We put our first vinyl cutter on the floor and never looked back. While learning some art software one evening, a setting was mistakenly changed and, in that moment, our “DMP” (Digital MissPrint) was born. The name was given to us by a client. It stuck. To this day we cannot tell you how we created it.
Today we have a state-of-the-art vinyl cutter along with top shelf software for creating patterns. All of our work is still performed with hand applied stencils, however. We never film dip or use any kind of silk-screening.
Optics.
Yes, we can and do coat optics, but there are risks along with some unique optional services we have developed over the years. Rifle scopes are typically the single most expensive item on a rifle, often exceeding the price of the gun. Blasting one in a cabinet followed by coating and baking is not something we take lightly. To date, we have never ruined anyone’s scope, but that inevitable conversation will come someday. This is a risk vs reward judgment call that we leave in your hands to decide exclusively.
LRI will not assume any liability for an optic damaged/destroyed as a result from preparing&applying Cerakote. This is nonnegotiable.

Turret engraving
Once in a while we are fortunate to meet a client who’ll give us a long leash. They tell us to “have fun with it”. Engraving scope turrets after coating was born from this service. The turret cap is coated to match the entire optic/rifle. From here, the witness marks and engraving fonts are duplicated inside the CAM system. Programming can then take place to recreate all of the marks. That was almost 20 years ago.

Today we have more resources; a 100-watt fiber laser engraver with a rotary axis. Fiber lasers differ from the more common CO2 versions as they will actually cut through metal materials. A 100-watt machine is very precise and powerful. It’s another tool that allows us to deliver a rifle that is truly finished.
