Description

Modern cartridges and standard-length actions often collide because the two were never designed for today’s heavier (longer) projectiles.  This service answers that challenge by offering an all-inclusive, one stop shopping experience.  We have the skills, parts, and machining resources to make it a trouble-free experience.

Our receiver machining programs utilize electronic wireless probing to qualify the part automatically.  These programs are written so that the machine literally sets itself up for the job as part of the stored program.  Once the action and floormetal (when required) are machined, they are bench tested prior to stock work.  In most instances, we can mock the assembly together with the receiver still in the machine and function test.  This allows us to take any required corrective action while avoiding having to set the job up a second time.

This makes our stock department’s job easier as all they have to focus on is making sure it all packages correctly in the rifle stock.

Winchester M70s:

Extending the M700 case capacity has its share of cascading effects.  The bolt stop and ejector blade must follow the magazine as it moves rearward.  This also has an effect on the action’s ability to eject a live cartridge.  Early “Type-1” Prewar Model 70s in 375 H&H Magnum were made with a longer ejection port at the rear along with a radically shaped bridge feature.  Ours follows the idea, but we toned it down a bit by adding an undercut to the inside of the bridge feature. (We got the idea from factory M700s)  The combination of the two allow for cartridges such as the 300 PRC to function without issue as both live and fired cases eject effortlessly.
