GUNSMITHING SERVICES: Custom engraving

Description

Our CNC engraving service puts the final touch on a custom rifle or special project.  While it can never duplicate true, master level, hand engraved artwork, it does offer a more affordable alternative.  The two major limitations are the tool and artwork size.  We often use a “00” size carbide centerdrill for engraving.  The drill diameter is .025″ with a 60* drill point.  Even at only .005″ depth the drill is creating a .017″ diameter swath.  If the parent artwork is small and detail intensive, the result will be unrecognizable and fall well short of expectation.

We ask that you allow us some artistic license and trust our judgement for this type of work.

This work is billed at the shop’s flat rate of $150/hr.
