Description

This service is for installing an assembly ready rifle barrel to an action. Below is a list of what is covered:

Disassemble rifle (when applicable)
Removal of front optic base screw (when applicable)
Lubricate threads on receiver
Time/index the recoil lug (when applicable)
Install new barrel to receiver and tighten appropriately
Disassemble bolt*
Set/Check/validate breech to bolt clearance*1
Set/Check/validate head space*2
Reassemble rifle
Function test
Test fire rifle (When possible)

1*: Bolts are torn down to ensure no pressure applied by a spring can influence headspace dimension

2*: Often adjustable to serviceable tolerance when using a spanner-type nut for barrel retention

NOT covered by this service:

Any corrective action requiring machine work.
- Headspace
- Breech clearance
- Barrel index/clocking for fluting
- Barrel index/clocking for engraving
- Barrel index/clocking for iron sights
- Muzzle brake clocking
- Extractor slot clocking
Any stock fitment issue with new barrel installed
Muzzle threading
Altering barrel length
Fluting
Any finish/coating work
